Air Filter Kits

The MK3 ram air induction kit is intended for fuel injector servos and includes: the filter housing, back plate, hinge section, torsion springs and air flow insert. Parts are raw components and assembled by the builder. Does not include rivets or alternate air door control arm. These kits may be used in combination with a sweep box (listed below) for updraft, fuel injected engines. The MK4 differs from the MK3 only in having a 4 inch inlet which is intended for engines larger than IO-360. For those using a fuel injector servo with updraft engines, we combine the MK 3 filtration unit with the same air sweep box (see photo below) used with the carbureted engines. The MK3 filter unit has no provision for carb heat but allows for an alternate air door “downstream” from the filter.

MK2 Filtration for Parallel or Updraft Fuel Injection or Carbureted

MK2 uses the K&N KA-1000 filter. Flow rate for when used for 320 to 360 engines is similar to MK3 system. The MK2 uses the same backplate and mounting arrangement as the MK3. Dimensions of MK2 are a trimmed length overall 7.75″ and 6.5″ at the outlet end base. Inlet is 2.75″. A spinner cone is provided for filter top. May be combined with sweep boxes (shown below) for updraft applications.

Our filtration unit for the updraft, carbureted engines filters full time, whether passing ram air or heated air. The action which decides air source is a door that swings 90 degrees. The door either seals against ram air or incoming heated air. Your engine is protected in both modes by a large conical K&N filter.
